It’s official. Browning is bringing back the 16 gauge Browning Citori in five models with prices ranging from about $1,800 to $2,700, with deliveries scheduled to start in August, 2010. All models will be available in 26” and 28” barrels and built, of course, on 16 gauge frames. Details are sketchy, but here’s what I have so far:
The Gran Lightning returns! That’s the headliner in this story. I am told that the image shown below doesn’t do justice to the new Gran Lightning, because (I suspect) this is dark wood. However, here’s what I’ve learned: Browning is putting Grade V/VI wood on the Gran Lightning with what they call “gloss oil” finish.
The White Lightning is also the beneficiary of a wood upgrade, this time to Grade II/III with the gloss oil finish.
Feather Lightning and Feather Superlight models are alloy receiver models which reduce the carrying weight of the gun and offer a choice between a Prince of Wales or English-style grip. Grade I wood, gloss finish.
The Lightning model is Browning’s standard model with a blued receiver, Grade I wood and gloss finish.
