CLENZOIL the elixir of rust-avoidance

When I first met Ellis Christian Lenz almost forty years ago, I knew at once what the phrase "gentleman shooter" meant. Author-- MUZZLE FLASHES -- Five centuries of firearms and men: Perfectionist-- when I first met him he was on the fourth barrel for his Springfield 30/06, shooting cast bullets (there's nothing harder to clean out of rifle or shotgun barrels than the residue of cast lead bullets or soft "chilled" shot): Inventor-- he held a patent for mounting a flashlight beneath the barrel of a pistol (long before laser technology came along); and of course the cleaner-lubricant-protectant to which he gave his name -- Clenzoil Field & Range.

One day after we'd eaten some of Mrs. Lenz's soup in the kitchen of their home in Canton, Ohio -- right there in the heart of Rust-Belt, USA -- Ellis took me into the basement and showed me a batch of Clenzoil being "cooked' up in a laundry boiler on a two burner gas stove. The formula remains a secret to this day. Today's Clenzoil, manufactured in modern equipment to the highest technical standards, is faithful to Ellis' original instructions, written on a 3 x 5" card.

Clenzoil has always had a cult-like following around the Great Lakes because of its wet and cold weather properties. It doesn't contain any Teflon or silicone, so it doesn't get "snotty' in rain or snow. Hundreds of companies in the machine tool industry use Clenzoil to protect millions of dollars worth of tools, dies, molds and fine machinery. lt's the official cleaner-lubricant-protectant of the Museum of Weapons in St. Augustine, Florida and beloved of gunsmiths everywhere. At about $15/8 oz. bottle, it is cheap operating insurance for your firearms and fishing tackle. I've used Clenzoil for over 35 years and pack a bottle with each NEW BILL HANUS BIRDGUN BY AYA that I ship. You can order direct from Clenzoil at 800/OIL-IT_UP or
clenzoil.com.
