Stand-out features of this model: Note the English “straight” grip and semi-beavertail forearm. This unusual configuration (at least in over/unders) puts the palms of your hands in the same plane. This automatically lifts your arms up and away from your sides when you shoulder the gun -- making it easy to swing left or right on the flush. It’s called a “quick” gun for that reason. By the same token, it has 26” barrels, which means the balance point is closer to your right hand than the left. An important feature for grouse and woodcock where sudden, close target changes require instant aiming response. And although this gun comes with five ProBore™ chokes, the two most important are Skeet and Improved Cylinder, which most hunters will put in and never take out. It also comes with a Light Modified tube (same as Skeet 2), so you can use my favorite combination for flushing dogs -- Skeet 1/Skeet 2. They also include Modified and Full tubes, so you are pretty much set for any hunting eventuality. Stock dimensions are: 1-1/2” x 2-3/8” x 14-1/4” LOP with a 5/8” rubber pad. These guns have about 1/4” cast-off. Weight runs between six pounds six ounces and six pounds eight ounces. In summary: |
